Energy Conservation Notice

As a heat wave moves across the region in the next few days, the Borough of Zelienople electric customers are being asked to voluntarily conserve power when possible.
Borough of Zelienople customers are requested to voluntarily lower electricity usage during the peak period from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to conserve energy during these peak hours. While there is nothing wrong with the electric grid, reducing overall electric demand during this period can help to lower future electric costs for the entire community.
Customers can take simple conservation steps such as: shutting off lights when not needed, unplugging electric chargers (especially those with small lights), raising the air conditioner thermostat a degree or two, closing curtains or blinds, doing laundry and other household chores requiring electricity during hours other than 3:00 PM through 6:00 PM and turning off electronic devices when not being used.
