Rosewood Underground Electric Project
Rosewood Underground Electric Project
Zelienople Borough will be replacing the underground primary electric cables in the Rosewood Plan. This aging component of the electric distribution system will be replaced with a new cable inside a conduit pipe to reduce the need for future excavations.
The majority of the work will be comprised of open trench excavation, with boring or drilling under the driveways. During this project, ornamental plantings and landscaping in the right of way may be removed and disturbed. The right of way is located from the curb back approximately 10 feet into the lawn areas.
In preparation for the project, it is asked that any yard ornaments be removed from the area, this would include solar lights, flags, and yard art. The contractor will excavate the plantings and move them to the adjacent yard area to be replanted. Watering of the disturbed plantings will be the responsibility of the property owner. Mailboxes will temporarily be relocated on the property and replaced during restoration. Decorative stone and mulch will be piled adjacent to the work area to be reused during restoration.
The trench and yard restoration will follow excavation by several weeks.
Most of the excavations will be on the west side of Marion Drive (house numbers 41-59), east side of Zelie Drive (house numbers 6-26) and Bassie Dr. (house numbers 98-120), and south side of Zeigler Ct. (400-406).
The contractor, Slater Electric and Sons, Inc., has been given notice to proceed construction and has a tentative start date of September 30th, 2024.
